Beginners Taster Workshop in BRAZILIAN CARNIVAL DRUMMING

With CALIDOSCOPIO (Derby Carnival Drummers): This 4 hour workshop will introduce you to the drums used in a Brazilian Carnival Bateria (drumming group). What kind of rhythms are played, the origins of the rhythms, technique of playing the drums plus exercises used to improve your playing.
Find yourself playing exciting grooves with other local people in a fun and relaxed environment. No experience is necessary and drums will be supplied.
This workshop is supported by Furthest From The Sea and people taking part will have the opportunity to parade with Calidoscopio on a short, city centre parade and riverside performance at the Furthest From the Sea Festival on Sat 18th June.
